Sun, Sep 17th 2006 20:46

About:
DBSight is a J2EE search platform for rapidly developing search engines on
any relational database, for both beginners and experts. It's scalable,
easy to create, and fast to search. It runs on any JDBC-supported
relational database. It can work on any new systems or old legacy systems
that need full-text search, without changing existing systems. It's based
on the high-performance Lucene API. All parameters are configurable
through Web UI for configuring data retrieval, content indexing, and
displaying templates.

Changes:
An XML and JSON result template was added. Multiple range searching is
supported with "+" and "-". When index hot-switching, loading the
temporary index into memory is avoided. The UnStored type can be searched
now. Duplicated records are avoided when incremental indexing and a
scheduled job are recreating the index.

DBsight 1.4.1 Upgrade

Mon, May 21st 2007 03:28

About:
DBSight is a J2EE search platform for rapidly developing search engines on
any relational database, for both beginners and experts. It's scalable,
easy to create, and fast to search. It features a built-in database
crawler following user-defined SQL, incremental indexing,
user-controllable result ranking, the ability to return results with
highlights (like Google), and categorized result counts (like Amazon). It
can easily integrate with a non-Java environment with XML/JSON. There is a
UI for all operations, so no Java coding is necessary.

Changes:
Synonyms were added. Multiple keywords were added, with support for
displaying a tag cloud in search results. JRuby support for indexing was
added. Faster adding indexes is always used without merging. Bulk deletion
of old documents is now much faster. Copying in a Linux environment is
faster. Deleted documents are discovered with efficient use of memory. JDK
was upgraded to 1.5. The query parser was fixed: the analyzer was applied
twice. An index file uploading error from Windows to Linux systems was
fixed.

Ever wonder why HP has seven consecutive years of Linux market share

leadership? Maybe it's our portfolio of best-of-breed partner products, or
HP value-add in management, high availability, and virtualization. Maybe
it's the integrated, consolidated infrastructure of HP BladeSystem,
single-source accountability and solution support from HP Services in 160
countries, or just our unwavering commitment to the open source

DBsight 1.3.6 Upgrade
by Chris (http://freshmeat.net/~chrislusf/)
Mon, Feb 12th 2007 04:12

Changes:
Parameter string concatenation mode was added, in addition to variable
binding, for greater flexibility. Debug mode in search was added for
easier remote debugging. The Range Query field name was changed to be not
case-sensitive. Log writing was synchronized to prevent a mangled log
format. Column name overlapping for range query was fixed. The XML
template's encoding was fixed.
