About:
The Netty project is an effort to provide an asynchronous, event-driven
network application framework for rapid development of high-performance,
high-scalability protocol servers and clients. It includes related
out-of-the-box protocol extensions and a tool suite.

Changes:
The overall API became more user-friendly. The PipelineCoverage annotation
type has been introduced to describe a PipeHandler better. SSL Handler has
been implemented to support SSLv2, SSLv3, and TLSv1. A Java object
serialization codec has been added. Various bugs also have been fixed.

About:
The Netty project is an effort to provide an asynchronous, event-driven
network application framework for rapid development of high-performance,
high-scalability protocol servers and clients. It includes related
out-of-the-box protocol extensions and a tool suite.

Changes:
The pipeline package was merged into the channel package for a more
user-friendly API. More interfaces were added to give a clearer view on the
overall class hierarchy and to utilize the Java covariant return type.
netty.jar is now OSGi-compatible.

The Netty project is an effort to provide an asynchronous, event-driven
network application framework for rapid development of high-performance,
high-scalability protocol servers and clients. It includes related
out-of-the-box protocol extensions and a tool suite.

Changes:
The array package has been replaced with the buffer package to provide an
even more user-friendly API. A hook has been added to ServerBootstrap so
that chroot or setuid can be called right after binding to a port.
